Josie has told John James that when Sam ripped the covers off of them in the morning her ass was exposed for everyone to see. John James is talking about it with Steve and Jo, meanwhile Josie was called to the diary room to discuss the incident. When she gets back she confronts Sam in the garden. As John James sees Josie go into the garden, he hurries out to act as referee. When Josie says she's going to sleep in the single bed from now on so Sam won't be interested in what's going on under the blankets, John James springs to life to try and convince her it wouldn't have mattered what bed she was in, and Sam is not going to do it anymore. You get the sense that John James is conflicted, he doesn't want Josie to be upset, but he doesn't think Sam really did anything that bad. Once Sam leaves, John James tries to cheer Josie up.
