Are we as a society getting more violent?

Speak Out India is a NewsX special show which debates the main news event of the day. Reckless driving by an NCP leader's 17-year-old son in Aurangabad kills a two-year-old. Three others, including a five-year-old girl have been seriously injured after the minor son of an influential father lost control of his SUV. Not stopping there.. the SUV also banged into another biker before ramming into a wall... Senior NCP leader Qadeer Maulana's son was driving the SUV. While the police have detained the minor who was on the wheels.. the driver seated beside him has been arrested. On the other hand, three goons mercilessly beat up a woman in full public view. A resident of Nehru Nagar, 32-year-old Geeta had lent Rs 20,000 to Manoj. But when she demanded her money back, Manoj and his friends thrashed her black and blue. When a woman came to help, the goons ignored her. Another old man tried to intervene but the thugs pushed him away. The police initially had refused to register the case, even after the victim produced a video recording of the incident. So the question we are asking is- Is the Indian youth running amok? Are we as a society getting more violent? Is there no respect left for rule of law? We debate this on the show and try to evolve consensus among our panelists over the issue.
