Approaching Mammoth Lakes, California

I just entered California from Nevada. I believe the mountains are the Sierra Nevada or High Sierras. It was very pretty nearing Mammoth Lakes. I stayed at a Best Western in Mammoth Lakes for two days. First day, I saw the ghost down Bodie, California. The second day I saw Yosemite. I did not drive very far into Yosemite unfortunately. I was tired, and for safety sake, I decided to turn around a few hours into the park.
