Apple To Allow Developers To Email Users Directly
Description
Apple ($AAPL@US) will allow app developers to email their users about non-Apple purchase options within the Apple Store. In the past, Apple prohibited app makers from steering users to their websites for payment of digital products. Apple App Store fees can range from 15 to 30% of gross sales, but now developers can use information gathered within their apps to communicate with customers and encourage direct payment, instead of through Apple.
