AOTR Elevates 13 Romanians

Authors of The Resistance is amplifying the alarming story of thirteen Romanian citizens arrested by U.S. Border Patrol in Skowhegan, Maine, on July 27, 2025.

During what agents described as a routine traffic stop conducted by Jackman Station Border Patrol, all thirteen were taken into custody for being allegedly present in the U.S. without legal authorization. While officials may frame this as standard enforcement, these arrests highlight the ongoing reality of targeted policing, immigrant criminalization, and the weaponization of routine encounters with law enforcement against vulnerable communities.

This is not simply about border security; it is about the systematic targeting of immigrant groups, the fear-driven policies that treat people as statistics instead of human beings, and the erosion of the right to move freely in search of safety, family, and opportunity.

The lives of these thirteen individuals matter. Their humanity must not be erased behind headlines and handcuffs.
