Anthony Smith - Drive-By shooting

The TV. is on
The show is new
I was asleep
I had the flu

All of a sudden
I heard a loud bang
“He’s been shot”
My mother then sang

The window was busted
Where the shot came through
Mom saw who did it,
His car was blue

The cops she dialed
To help me out
“Its too late”
She began to pout

“Why was it him?
That had to die?
Why not me? ”
She began to cry


She paid for my funeral
She paid for my grave
There she knew
She had to be brave

The years have gone
By her so fast
She thinks that memory will be her last

I was the one
That had the doubt
I was the one
That was a scout

Remember me
Upon this day
The one who died
A terrible way
