Anthony Di'anno - Dishonest Poets

Dishonest poets are wily and smart,
They hide behind tested structure and form,
They know how to write, they know how to rhyme,
They take great pride saying nothing at all,

Dishonest poets are cowards at heart,
For it takes great courage to be open,
Oh! How their doubt flickers as their tongues dart,
Around all that weaves their truth unspoken,

Dreams laid in tatters, not that it matters,
For they are all Henchards the lot of them,
Coloured with mud that sticks as it splatters,
We would be far better off shot of them,

Were it not that when they speak through their heart,
Other hearts swell up, then they break open.
