Anshul Gupta - A Prayer

I am grateful to thee Lord for gifting me human life
I am grateful to thee for the sheen of my soul
I am grateful for the divine cycle of breathing
I am grateful for the heart full of love.

I am grateful to thee Lord for warmth of my body
I am grateful for eyes to witness your miracles
I am grateful for ears to hear your praise
I am grateful for hands to help me give.

I am grateful to thee Lord for legs to walk the wood
I am grateful for tongue to speak the truth
I am grateful for dreams to inspire me up
I am grateful for the school of life to learn and develop.

I surrender, and pray for forgiveness
I pray for faith and fearlessness
I pray for love with responsibility
For judicious use of my life, I accept full accountability.

Let the truth bestow upon me
Let the river of joy pass through me
Help me use my mind for contribution and service to this universe
From darkness to light, help my soul traverse.

Help me have control over my emotions
Help me not get misled by cultural notions
Help me keep my thoughts pure and positive
Help me be the master of my mind composite.

Give me the wisdom to love my friends and family
Give me the courage to love my enemy
Enable me to help the poor and destitute
Give me the confidence to beat platitude.

Help me manage my desire without running after it
Help me get in sync with this universe with focus and belief
Let love, joy and compassion be the state of my emotion
Let awareness be the permanent state of my being.
