Uthaya Chandran, who celebrated his 23rd birthday on 22 April died whilst in custody at the Sungai Buloh prison. His family want answers.
Today the deceased's father Gaur Chandran submitted a memo to leader of the opposition PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and other Pakatan Rakyat MPs asking them to pressure the government for a thorough investigation into Uthaya Chandran's death.
Since 2000, there have been 80 deaths in police custody.
