Anonymous Ghurl - True Story

Three months and no cuts
That's a long strech of time
I'd been doing it different
Wrote it out in rhyme
But yesterday for no
Reason at all
I stumbled, I slipped
I did take a fall
Maybe because it was
An anniversary
One year to the day
When I tried to be free
The day that I tried
To take my own life
And never to be
A mother or wife
But I failed cause I'm here
As you can see
But I'm not who I was
I will never be me
And yesterday on the
First of the year
I cut up my wrist
And my ankle I fear
No reason at all
For the thing I had done
And it's hard to escape
When you can't even run
I sat in my room
Held the blade to my skin
And pushed down real hard
To let it sink in
I watched as the blood
Fromed into a line
And the next day I told
My mother 'I'm fine'
Lies all they were
Not one word was true
Why am I taking
You're not listening, are you?
I cry out in pain
But no can hear me
And you may disbelieve
But this is a true story
