Annie Mark - The best tea

The sinews in your arm tense and relax
Not so the tightness in my heart
We laugh and smile and are best friends
Trying so hard to just be as before.

Things change
And you cannot unchange them
Theres no going back
the words are said
And the chips have been played

The die rolled and stopped
And there will be no more crunchy gravel
Beneath my feet
And no more roosters at midnight
I will miss your tea.
