Anne Morin - Three Coyotes

We read the words within the stars
above the blackest lines.
You start the song; I follow through,
while She, She sets the bars.

Her head is raised in ecstasy;
we turn to harmonize.
I pause, then yip admiring praise,
glissandos revealed to me.

You trill the longest melody;
she ornaments with ease.
I raise my tail to emphasize
our glorious cacophony.

This deep expression of the soul,
a madrigal of sounds,
is sent into the universe –
respectful, grounded, whole.
