I try not to hold on to you
Every time I see you I fall for you again
It’s like déjà vu over and over again
My life is going in slow motion
But you still don’t realize how you hurt me

I try to stop my tears from falling
But it’s like trying to stop the rain
These games you play are breaking me
I try taking my mind off of you but you are always there
My fake smile can only last so long
Day after day I put off the truth
One day the flood gates will break

In a crowded room I only see you
An empty room is filled with your voice
You’re the reason I wake up in the morning
And at night I lay awake for hours thinking of you
When I finally fall asleep my dreams are filled with you

On our good days I feel like I can fly
Your smile gives me chill bumps
Our talks make me weak in the knees
Even the accidental touches give me butterflies

The bad days make me feel like I have nothing to live for
When you push me away I cringe
Just knowing you are mad at me hurts
I try staying mad it never works
Even when you look at me I melt

I am starting to believe it will never work
But every time I start to pull away you pull me back in
The games start over just like clock work
Have you not realized I will only last so long
I start to wonder are you worth it
I want the answer to be yes
The way you hurt me though make me think no

Maybe if I leave you will realize the truth
As the saying goes you don’t know what you have until it’s gone
But what if it’s all a lie
What if I’m pushing you away for good?
