This has been a great series full of action, an interesting new world, and an exciting mission to drive it through the first two issues. In this issue the mission is over and the action has halted. Now is the true test to the quality of the story and the draw of the character. With that being said there was a great ending to Anna’s mission that was a lot of fun to read but she is back home now in our world and has stepped out of the role of Anna Mercury and into Anna Louise Britton to walk the streets of London. The question now that there is a break in the action is will Warren Ellis be able to create a story outside of the action in the life of this character. Can he connect us with her “secret identity” the same way we connected with the adventure before? Only time will tell but it has been good enough so far that I’m willing to stick around and find out.
