Anna begins Delhi proxy war

West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee is all set to address her maiden rally with anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare on Wednesday as she bares her national ambitions to play kingmaker in India's elections.

The party will outline its national agenda and will also announce its candidates for the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, among them ex-bureaucrats, former judges and lawyers, TMC sources said.

Vinod Kumar Binny who was expelled from the Aam Admi Party (AAP) will be announced as TMC's candidate from the East Delhi constituency at this mega rally.

The party, which does not have any base in Delhi yet, says it has already been flooded with applicants seeking tickets to contest the elections. It has already opened units in fifty-five of the seventy assembly segments in Delhi with the assistance of Anna's supporters. Each such unit currently has 15 members drawn largely from Anna's camp.
