How heavy the blow that crushed your wings,
Trampled beneath the feet of ignorance
How heavy the sorrow that broke your heart,
It’s slow beat painful against the cage.
How heavy the burden that bruised your soul,
The darkest hues of black, blue and purple
How heavy the price you paid when they broke your spirit
And left you crushed, bruised and broken in a hell they created.
