Ann Beard - Another, s Heart

There are a multitude of mysteries inside another’s heart,
the closest of true lovers would not know where to start.
We are the masters of concealment creativity our shield,
all the secrets deeply hidden, way in truly sealed.

Volumes of self-doubt are stored inside a person’s heart,
It make us individual, sets each of us apart.
We each possess a separate soul, unique in every way,
but circumstances differ as we greet each brand new day.

There is need to find a mate, to share another’s heart
to fill our lives with ecstasy…..holding back a tiny part.
engross ourselves in family, to love much as we dare
while all the time, way deep inside secrets linger there.

So much of life confuses us, so much we only guess.
As with our final breath, lips to loved one’s lips we press.
Then one will travel on alone, with all that’s buried deep
while the world embraces misery and sad widows weep.
