Aniruddha Pathak - Depth, naught length
33 Views • Jun 18, 2014
Description
To explore lasting peace welling from deep within,
Stepping aside for a while to drown mundane din,
To repossess my face from what looks like a frown.
To enjoy soft caress that is the kiss of time,
Tune in to my soul’s rhythm unheard from within,
Enriching me with what is vague but still sublime,
Relax— be in touch with what’s real me serene.
I know, man may rush thro life many a long mile
To arrive, by surrendering soul’s very bliss,
And still remain a stranger as if on an isle,
E’er a migrant like warm-weather-seeking ibis.
The soul with eyes to see nor ever nose to smell,
Nor sense of touch, of speech, nor with ears that can hear,
Tongue nor ever taste, casting still a lasting spell—
If only man is keen to perk up inmost ear.
Poor soul of mine felt hurried, harried, no less lost
For long, but let me now take time to be present
As I can, amidst every unwinding moment,
Or else be prepared to nurse a wannabe ghost.
Let me realise, life’s scarce the length man is alive,
That life is depth to be explored, life’s no long drive;
Let me know, destiny’s well is well-provided,
Let me guard that my buckets are not shallow-fed.
I know, I know, all this and more,
And still do what I did here to fore.
