Animal Rescue

After Katrina, approximately 50,000 pets were left to fend for themselves when their owners were forced to flee their homes. Existing animal welfare groups saved more than 20,000 of them, but a month after the storm, ongoing need led to the founding of a new organization, Animal Rescue New Orleans.
