Let me be me
Let me leave and come back if i want
Let me have the last word if it makes me feel better
Let me be overly nice when i want
Or not.

Let me have friends who may get me in trouble
Let me make the choice
Let me stuff my face with the fruits of life
Let me feel better or worse for it
Or don't.

Let me be angry
Let me be sad or happy or even a little quixotic
Let me stop and think about things
Let me be truthful without your poetic license
If you like.

Let me run around shouting
Let me sit quiet and alone
Let me take time to grow
Let me rush things
If i like.

Let me or let me not
I'll let you
If you want.
