So there I was one day
thinking of what to say
but when I got to her place
something in her face
told me silence was best
perhaps that was the hardest test

Those eyes drive me insane
no smile makes me feel pain

As Laura puts her head on my shoulder
does she know that I've longed to hold her
and the night grows ever colder
and I wish I would have told her

I listen as she speaks
about nerds, preps, jocks, and geeks
all guys she fell for before
all who made her heart sore
but I would never hurt you
I think you know it too
