the moon peels back each
in tremulous cadence
her outer raiment
…the darkening orb of earth

waxing she eases
bathing walled sentinels in iridescence
…gabled shadows hint the marvel of her sex

ah love! like Selene we walk the silent course
hiding ourselves in twilights calliope
where night unveils earth

and we in our layers
we remain untaut, unbound
roaming the dreams locked away by Helios' terse ride
