Andrew Hinton - Firelight

I see fire, burning my hills,
My desire, and heart stills.

Brought to my knees, from the things I've done,
Hoping my Father will still call me son.

I see ashes, coating the air,
Burning lashes, I cannot bear.

Hands full of ashes, the mistakes that I made,
Feeling the wound of life's burning blade.

I feel heat, burning my chest,
Tired feet, but I can’t rest.

Clouds of rain, thunder in the sky,
No today I will not die.

I burn anger, now I will fight,
Forget danger, I'll make it right.

Rising now, muscles drawn tight,
I will fight by firelight.
