Andrew Close - Starry Sky
8 Views • Jun 15, 2014
Description
Turn so slowly into hours,
A see a sky, interrupted by,
A field of unploughed stars.
But as I sit here waiting, wishing,
That those tarnished stars would fall,
I hear a song, in the whisper of the wind,
That makes those stars seem like nothing at all.
This song is a song of beauty,
Echoing throughout the years,
But it seems to be, in a minor key,
As if sung through a veil of tears.
And so this song of beauty lost,
Cries out against the sky,
Simply sung, for the only one,
Who lived alone to die.
And on that day, the day he died,
The sacrifice he paid
Saved this world, saved my soul,
From the darkness of this starry sky.
