ANDREW BLAKEMORE - When I Look Upon This World

When I look upon this world in which we live
It is with saddened eyes.
For I see that the wars and the battles are still raging,
I see the unrest and the injustice,
And the same wells of poverty
That exist throughout the land.
While the poor and the homeless people
Are still begging upon the streets,
And the starving children continue to die
Within the heat of the African desert,
Nothing has changed,
For it was the same when I was a child.
And I could not bear to look then
In the same way that I cannot bear to look now.
Although we all grow older
Each day that we live upon this earth,
It seems that we do not grow older and wiser.
