ANDREW BLAKEMORE - Vietnam
0 Views • Nov 10, 2014
Description
As dawn begins to rise,
Across the land sweet music drifts
Into the scarlet skies,
Through glowing clouds the golden beams
Now sweep the night away,
And falls upon the graves of those
Who longed to see this day.
The ripples on the water dance
For joy and shall not die,
They lap upon the silent shores
Where sleeping shadows lie,
The ebbing heart, the pulse of life
Beat on and never still,
The wounds may take some time to heal
But dreams they cannot kill.
The notes are sailing through the air
On summer winds that blow,
While the gentle water softly soothes
The pain of long ago,
The burning fires have now been doused
So too the smokes of war,
The battle ceased now all shall live
In peace for evermore.
