Note (time 49:56) - Science neither was, nor is "heretical" according to the Christian Church and (eastern) orthodox theology, which makes use of many ancient philosophical notions to which are given new meanings to suit the revealed truth of God incarnated and resurrected, is also part of the Greek heritage, though it's the spiritual truth for everybody to embrace. Only those ancient teachings and practices which clearly went against those taught by Jesus Christ were rejected, but not scientifical research per se. The extreme actions of some Church leaders during a specific historical era and in a certain area are not the norm for the whole Christian Church.
