my bones layed down to rest,
my skin crawled underneath.
they told us we'd gone with the best,
they said it with so much grief.
i almost looked away,
i almost did not watch.
but in the end i kept on looking,
i think i saw too much.
images of broken homes,
bruises, cuts, and scrapes.
all the people, all alone
how much does it take?
i almost looked away,

and i think i saw too much.
