An Hourglass That Swallows a Camel
World-acclaimed Korean modern artists Yoo Hyun-mi and Lim Seung-chun showcased their artworks combined with stories and narration through the exhibition "An Hourglass That Swallows a Camel." Using the mediums of visual arts and language, the two artists take the audience to new heights of modern art.
Camel is the protagonist of Lim's narration. The chronology of his life from his childhood to midlife and senescence, is portrayed through Lim's creativity. Meanwhile, an hourglass is the main motif of Yoo's short story. It acts as a metaphor for the confusion experienced by the artist.
These two artists expose their inside stories through pieces of art. The protagonists of their stories communicate with the audience, resulting in a point of contact between storytelling and visual arts.
