Amy - That's My Lord

Tortured, whipped, lashed at, mocked,
and for what?
Murder? Crime? Theft?
NO!
But simply for being a revolutionary,
a good man, a teacher, a healer,
spreading the word

you couldn’t handle his truth, and condemned him
violently nailed him to that cross
crowned with thorns
and murdered him like a common criminal
Yet his very last message, was of forgiveness

Facing the upmost torture, he did no condemn you
He died for you¸ for me, for us,
for all of us
So that we could receive his grace
And what did he get for it?

Tortured, whipped, lashed at, mocked
My Lord suffered for my salvation
to save my sins,
and I am eternally grateful
