Amy - ...Losing the battle

The battle is over
It took so long
But lasted a mere hour
I gave my best
Put my strengths up
To a test but
I guess my best wasn’t good enough
So I respect the outcome
Sure it would have been nice
To wave my flag in victory
But life isn’t always fair
It’s down to choices
And I guess I left
Deciding my fate
To late, and I regret it
But in a way I didn’t lose
Just received a different
Outcome to what I truly wanted
Sure I’m mad
And I wish it was different
But I lost
And the best girl won
