All the time I waited for you
All the night I spent thinking
All those hearts I drew
As my heart was slowly sinking

The teardrops on the paper
The ink running down the page
Love was my escape
But now I feel trapped within a cage

My head was saying do what you’re told
My heart was saying hold on tight
My hand longing for another to hold
But I didn’t know what direction was right

Did I do something wrong
To upset you, make you mad?
I’ve been thinking for so long
What was it that went bad?

All I want to do
Is apologise
For ruining it with you
Just promise me no more lies

Holding my breath
Holding your hand
I will never forget
But my head says I can

I want to run my hands through your hair
And be with you forever
Into your eyes, I would stare
Just you and me together

I guess it’s too late
I was such a fool
The time we spent was great
I guess I broke a rule
