Amtrak Train Collides with Car, Splitting Car in Half

An Amtrak train crashed into a car in Florida on Tuesday, splitting it in half, authorities said — and, amazingly, all three people in the vehicle survived.

The car's driver and a passenger who was ejected on impact were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, said Lt. Richard Elkins with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Elkins added that the passenger suffered road burns. A third person in the car was not injured.
