Amrita Rao - Biography

Amrita Rao, born on 17th June 1981, at Mumbai, is an Indian actress and model.

Amrita Rao is from a Chitrapur Brahmin family, and has a sister Preetika Rao, who is a well known communist, model and actress in south Indian films.

Amrita completed her schooling from Canossa Convent and moved on to join Sophia College where she enrolled for a course in psychology. While in college, she started auditioning for advertisements like Fairever Face Cream. Later she became a famous super model and has endorsed products like Cadbury, Bru coffee and has shot many commercials for print media and television media as well.

Amrita Rao has done many photo shoots and has acted in music video of Alisha Chinoy.

Amrita Rao made her debut in Hindi films in the year 2002, with Ab Ke Baras. Her ability to act, and strong screen presence was noticed by the masses and critics and she won many awards for best debut.

Amrita Rao also won many awards for her fresh look and acting talent for the film Ishq Vishk with Shahid Kapoor.

Amrita Rao has acted in films like The Legend Of Bhagat Singh, Ishq Vishk, Ab Ke Baras, Masti, Deewaar, Main Hoon Na, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi, Shikhar, Pyare Mohan, Vivah, Heyy Babyy, Victory, Welcome To Sajjanpur, and My Name is Anthony Gonsalves.
