it was a wet sunday afternoon,
lying on our back, my brother and i were drinking beer
that we both stole from crippled old joe's grocery store
we were drunk and our imagination was running high
of how it was to live another life outside the borderline

but we did not remember...
there was too much snow on the street
and not enough sunshine in the sky

it was a wet sunday afternoon
lying on her back, caroline whispered in my ear
'do you think we can get out from this boring old town? '
i was stoned and delirious from her kisses
so i simply said, 'sure, we'll both be out of here by dawn'
