Amberlee Carter - ....

Description
sun, moon, stars
wilting, glass fixture and iris
I see beyond the red door,
last stair of universe-
black hole, heart pumps nostalgia.
It has dimensions
I have waded, dreamlike through
vast lands of waste and man
who stand at the edge of mortal eden
rain seeping through flesh,
taking the trash out, Sunday evening-
millennia fever, came and went-
God rests, the year of dog
silent tongue, whistle and spit
our wanting minds, our needful hands-
burden and regret
