Amberlee Carter - Sunrise
2 Views • Jun 12, 2014
Description
Morning through an eastern window
shines hard on the cobwebs overgrown the garden-
There are stains we mean to remove,
equations we intend to solve
and demons we accidently summon
-
Purpose and Worth have no definition,
especially not the name of man
Autumn comes slowly,
seeps into the landscape, a slow disease-
Cancer on summer skin, regret leaves tumors on the heart
Sometimes I see you,
Atlas out of work in a modern world-
An inner scream echoes, splits itself
until the voice of one,
becomes the battle cry of a thousand
who have hewed their final breaths into hymns of faith
we are indebted to these ones
