Amazon's Alexa Challenges ChatGPT

Amazon's senior vice president and head scientist for Alexa, Rohit Prasad, stated that Amazon is uniquely positioned in the generative artificial intelligence, contrary to the belief that the company has missed out on this technology. Prasad emphasized that Alexa has been at the forefront of AI for a long time and has remained accessible through voice communication, unlike OpenAI's ChatGPT, which is accessed via a web browser. Amazon aims to enhance Alexa's conversational and intelligent abilities, including the development of a new version of its own large language model called Alexa Teacher Model. Amazon has posted job listings indicating plans to implement a ChatGPT-style product in its online store search and may introduce more generative AI features to Alexa.
