Amazon Announces Home Robot
Description
Amazon ($AMZN@US) announced its long-rumored home robot Astro. The bot will set for $999. Astro is a Day 1 Edition product, so it won’t be sold to everyone at first. Amazon will ask people to sign up and then invite them to order the product. This method allows Amazon to avoid building too many gadgets it won’t sell like the Amazon Fire Phone, which launched but discontinued in 2015. Astro will go on sale later this year with no set launch date. The robot promises to pull together much of what Amazon already offers in other products.
