If there was but the tiniest bit of sincerity in his eyes
she would not be bothered to notice,
For her heart was of the cold, cynical line of women
who view love and romance as hopeless.

Or perhaps she just disagrees with the norm
and chooses to view life in a sensible fashion,
Relinquishing the monotony of strained love
for the intense inferno of brief, uncommitted passion.

She flows in sync with time and does not agonize
over love and matrimony, such trivial things
Carpe Diem for life has a great deal more to propose
then empty promises accompanied with sparkling diamond rings.
