He saw your reflection
In the window as you passed.
He saw a smile,
But knew it was masked.

He followed you out.
But kept a safe distance.
He wanted to talk.
But not in this instance.

As he watched from behind.
And fell in love with your grace.
This must be destiny,
The right time and right place.

He blinked, for a second too long.
He knew not where you went.
Being afraid,
Was this stranger’s lament.
