I'd pick you the stars
if I could reach up,
But the light of your kindness,
would make them seem dark...

I'd give you the oceans,
the rivers, the seas.
But before all of your love
how small would they seem?

And I'd give you diamonds
for tears that you've shed.
But mountains of treasure
you know I don't have...

Or flowers I'd pick you,
the fairest of May.
But your beauty, Mother,
Won't wither away...

So all I can give you,
could it be enough?
I'll lay down at your feet
my care and my love...
