Description

Someone can experience symptoms of hypothermia even when they are in temperatures higher than freezing. According to mnn.com, “there are roughly 1,300 hypothermic deaths from cold each year, and more than half of them don’t occur during winter or in freezing temperatures.” This is because temperature isn’t the best way to judge how cold an environment will feel to the human body. That’s why anyone planning to be outside for extensive amounts of time should always check on the wind chill.
