beaming suns
and broken smiles
hearts used to holding on for only a little while

with careful words
and bleeding hearts
the empty ones chant their haunted chorus

alone and scared
and banded together
they break the walls still confining them

their lyrics ring out
and fill the void
finally, they are understood

then, she wakes
and sighs aloud
another day, another misery, another dream
