It hurts to be alone when one
Has surely lost her way.
The road is long,
The feeling strong
As thoughts are led astray.

Although she stands within a crowd,
Her face they never see.
She moves around
Without a sound,
Invisible to thee.

Within her mind, she sees a world
That she will never know.
She reaches for
The hidden door,
But emptiness it shows.

It hurts to be alone when one
Has surely lost her way.
She does not know
The lighted road,
So in the dark she stays.
