In approaching equilibrium
I have since found
the difference between us
so infinitesimally small
as to overcome all entropy.

And in measuring with precision
if not accuracy
the frequencies of our heartbeats
appear so similar
as to be a beat itself.

And I discover that
this mirror’s image
though strange and unfamiliar
is real nonetheless
light bent but not broken.

And if our two pelts
seem at first too different
still I am not afraid
for it is your skin that reflects the light
which my skin then absorbs

I find you aligned
oppositely and yet
magnetic
invisible lines so strong
no space remains between us

Because
I believe
it is only through
the superposition of our courage
the coherence of our thoughts
and the attraction of opposing hearts
that we shall
in time
achieve Universal Gravitation...
