Friday morning
Early, still dark
A magpie warbles prettily
You roll towards me
And squeeze my rump
Possessively

A kookaburra laughs
Followed by another and another and another
You chuckle
And place my hand firmly
Between my legs

My heart rate changes
As you harden against me
And, back to belly, we take
The first slow steps
In our pavane of love
No vivace
Not yet
