If there were no wrong
There would be no right
If there were no dark,
There would be no light.

If there were no warmth
We’d always be cold
If there were no fear
We’d never be bold.

If there were no money,
There would be no greed
If there were no crime
There’d be no good deeds.

So what if all these if’s were real
If all we fear is fear itself
What if just to read a book
We simply take it off the shelf.

Do we take things too seriously
Or are we always right on cue
It seems to me we always fear
When we find something odd and new.

So who’s to say these if’s are right?
Who’s to say these if’s are wrong?
It seems to me we have the right
to ponder this all night long.

So on this journey full of ifs
Full of ‘buts’ and ‘whys’ as well
Who’s to say we’re living wrong?
It seems to me we’ll never tell.
