Alisha Chamberlin - The Widow

She passes through the thick green grass
As though they were made of glass
And as she kneels before a grave
She whispers to it, 'Please be brave.'
And in that grave a dead man lies
That's when she whispers her goodbyes
For now she is a widow
And her love can not grow
For her love has passed away
And the skies have all turned gray
And when the widow's farewell ends
The tear falls with a message it sends
'I'll always love you
Even when the skies aren't blue
You'll always be near
I'll always love you dear.'
As the widow turned away
Saying that had made her day
But when she looked down she just froze
For where her tear fell there stood a single rose
