Alien Girl - *Dear God*

Dear God,

I know that we have talked once before
I, in a fit of rage or in some sort of heated passion
Told you I never wanted to see your face again
That you've let me down for the last time

Yet here we stand united once more 
By pain and suffering and the usual things that brings one to her knees
You only seem to show when I hate you the most
When faith has betrayed me is when you seem to care

Yet here we are face to face again
My eyes turned to ground
Afraid that you may forgive my anger
Afraid that maybe you won't

And yet here I am on my knees
And you and I both know it's an act of desperation
My hand outstretched, head bowed, lips curled in prayer
With mumblings of forgiveness and 'show me the ways'

If I found you in this heart of mine
I'm sure I'd tear you out
For all that share in your disease, for the cancer that is you
Shall never spread through my soul
